This state park preserves one of the finest collections of dinosaur tracks in the world, embedded in the limestone bed of the Paluxy River. The main campground offers 44 sites with water and electric hookups, plus primitive backcountry sites accessible by hiking trails. Best track viewing happens during low water periods, typically late summer and fall.
The park sits about 4 miles west of Glen Rose on a paved park road. River access requires a short walk from parking areas, and tracks are most visible when water levels drop. Summer heat can be brutal, so spring and fall offer the best experience for both camping and track hunting.
