Muley Point — Moki Dugway Rim BLM Dispersed Camping
Muley Point sits on the lip of Cedar Mesa, looking out over the San Juan River canyons, Valley of the Gods, and the buttes of Monument Valley beyond. It’s BLM ground with no developed sites. You pick a pullout along the rim and park. There’s room for a couple dozen rigs spread out, and it rarely feels crowded outside peak spring and fall weekends. No water, no toilets, no trash service. Pack it all in and out, and keep well back from the edge, because the drop is real and wind gusts are no joke. Check current BLM fire rules before you light anything.
The turnoff is from UT-261 at the top of the Moki Dugway, and the last stretch is graded dirt that most high-clearance rigs handle fine. After rain it can turn greasy, and the Dugway itself is a steep, unpaved switchback climb, so take it slow. Spring and fall are the sweet spot. Summer is hot and winter can ice the road. Have a dirty day.
Camp on the rim above Monument Valley.
