Pinware River Provincial Park Campground — Trans-Labrador Highway
Pinware River Provincial Park is a genuine find on the southern leg of the Trans-Labrador run — a small, tidy provincial campground tucked along the banks of the Pinware River, a well-known Atlantic salmon river. It’s a green, spruce-lined site that feels worlds away from the gravel grind of the TLH. Sites are basic but maintained, with fire rings and pit toilets. The river is the main event: salmon anglers work these pools hard in season, so expect company in July and August. Outside peak salmon weeks it’s quiet and a solid overnight before or after the L’Anse au Clair ferry crossing at Blanc-Sablon.
Access is directly off Route 510 near the Quebec-Labrador border, paved or chip-sealed to the entrance — any rig can get here. Season runs roughly June through September; services are limited to what you bring. Drinking water availability should be confirmed before arrival. Cell signal is minimal at best in this corridor.
