Tulpar Kul Camp — Alay Valley Yurt Camp and Motorized Campground

Tulpar Kul sits on the high Alay Valley floor roughly 20km east of Sary-Tash, where the Pamir Highway bends south toward the Kyzylart Pass into Tajikistan. The camp operates a mix of yurt accommodation and flat ground for vehicle camping — tents, roof tents, the works. At 3,530m you’re in thin air, but the payoff is one of the most dramatic mountain backdrops in Central Asia: the Trans-Alay wall with Lenin Peak (7,134m) sitting dead center. The place is used hard by Pamir Highway through-travelers in summer. Toilets are present, meals can be arranged from the yurt camp kitchen, and water is available from the lake and on-site. Nights are cold even in July — pack accordingly.

Access is off the M41 via a short dirt track clearly visible from the highway near Sary-Tash. Any vehicle can reach it in dry conditions. The camp operates roughly June through September — outside that window, the Alay Valley is buried. Cell signal: essentially none. No hookups, no showers, no trash service you can rely on — pack it out.
