Bittangabee Bay Campground

Bittangabee Bay sits inside Ben Boyd National Park near Eden, NSW — one of those spots that feels genuinely earned. You’re camped on a headland above a sheltered cove, surrounded by coastal scrub and banksia, with the ruins of a 19th-century whaling station poking out of the bush nearby. Facilities are basic: vault toilets, no drinking water, fire rings in designated areas subject to seasonal restrictions. It gets busy during school holidays and long weekends — book early or show up Monday.

Access is via a sealed road from Green Cape Road, with the last stretch unsealed but easily handled by a capable 2WD. Nearest fuel and resupply is Eden, roughly 35km north. Fires are frequently banned in summer — bring your own water and plan around it. National park fees apply; book through NSW National Parks.
